The Unlimited fun that you’ve been enjoying since the dawn of Reliance Jio is soon coming to an end. With its launch Reliance Jio has introduced a promotional offer to its customers in order to attract more users however there was an end date to it. First it was December 31st 2016, then they extended the offer up to March 31st 2017. Many Airtel, Vodafone, Idea users have reportedly migrated to Jio platform for their data needs although they have been using their original numbers. Some have completely changed their providers in order to take advantage of Jio’s free voice plans too.
Now that Jio’s customers base has incessantly grown to a 100 million users in just 170 days, panic gripped in the management’s minds leading them to create one more premium offer that may sound pleasant to their existing users. The new premium offer comes packed with the same unlimited free HD voice calling, free roaming and free SMS across India. However there’s a catch. To avail this offer one needs to join the Jio Prime Membership by March 31st 2017 to express your interest by paying a one-time fee of ₹ 99 and continues to receive the existing benefits till March 2018. That’s not it, apart from the one-time one year fee of ₹ 99 there is a monthly charge of ₹ 303. In this plan there will be a data cap of 1GB per day with a validity of 28 days. First 1GB will be delivered at 4G speed after which the speed will be decreased to 128 kpbs. To sweeten the offer, Jio has just announced that the Prime users will be loaded with an extra 5GB 4G data (worth ₹ 201) to those recharging with ₹ 303 and 10GB 4G data to those recharging with ₹ 499. Additionally, when you join this plan you also get unlimited access to Jio’s premium apps like JioCinema, JioTV and JioMusic.
So the question is should you subscribe to Jio Prime Membership? If you compare with other providers, no other provider is offering 1GB 4G data per day at this price, not even close to what Jio is offering. In my opinion, yes, Jio’s Prime offer seems to be sweet.
